Pat Williams: A Tribute

Pat Williams wasn’t simply a senior home loan officer at the Associates Home Loan of Florida, Inc., but also a dear friend and pillar of the Florida community.

His daughter, loan officer Loren Morgan, says it best: “My dad loved helping people, above all else. Both in and out of work. He told me when I first started working in this industry, ‘Treat these people like they are your FRIENDS. People come to us when they are going through a hard time, so be patient and compassionate to their struggle.”

Pat received his mortgage broker’s license in 1968 and spent 55 very successful years in the mortgage industry. In 1981, he opened his own brokerage in Pinellas County, FL—Suncoast Mortgage. Loren says, “I have fond memories growing up seeing him working out of his briefcase everywhere, always taking calls from people who needed loans, always dedicated to the practice, even on vacation! He took a couple of years off in ‘temporary retirement’ when the market crashed, and then he found Frank Grimes and Associates Home Loan of FL, and the rest is history!”

When asked about her father’s legacy, Loren has a lot to say. “Pat’s ethics and values were exceptional,” she explains. “There isn’t a person who has crossed paths with him that would disagree. He truly loved what he did, and he was an inspiration to everyone he worked with.”

Although Pat has passed on, his legacy remains strong in both his daughter and in the ongoing work of Associates Home Loan. Loren says, “I hope that I can be as impactful to people as he was. Since he has passed on, I’ve been flooded with stories from our customers about how they called Pat for a loan… and left with a new friend. Tons of customers have confided in me that Pat changed their lives, helped them, and guided them well beyond his call of duty.”

Pat has left behind many stories of hope, guidance, and helping others that will live on for years to come. Associates Home Loan strives to make the impact that Pat Williams made in people’s lives; we know he would be proud.
